Reviews and Ratings
I found that this boutique hotel had a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, although small and with disjointed services, were surprisingly spacious, comfortable, and equipped with modern amenities. The staff provided high chair service and quick table cleaning, showing friendliness and helpfulness. However, some employees seemed untrained or unwilling to assist. The hotel's location, near Kimberley Big Hole, exuded historic charm despite needing maintenance in some areas. The dining options, although described as Spartan, offered a wide range of buffet and cooked choices. The facilities were generally good, but the hotel appeared a little run down and in need of cleaning.
I had booked and received confirmation for a room that was not as great compared to other more upmarket hotels. The historic charm was evident, but at the last minutes, it desperately needed a paint job. The service, however, was exceptional with staff who helped with the kids, always had a high chair ready, and cleaned tables so quickly that there was never a mess. While the location may have lacked warmth and cleanliness, being close to the Kimberly Big Hole was a definite plus. The dining experience, though a bit overpriced and of poor quality, did offer excellent home-made jams.
I loved the spacious and comfortable rooms with a mix of old-world charm and modern amenities. The service was helpful and kind, although a bit chaotic at times. The location, with secure parking and immaculate hedges, felt safe but lacked a bit of warmth. The dining options were varied, but some areas looked tired. Overall, a pleasant stay with some room for improvement.
The hotel had excellent rooms and food, and the exceptionally cold beer from the bar was the best. However, the rooms were far too dark, which was a downside.
I recently stayed at this hotel and found a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, while lovely, were not as impressive compared to more upscale hotels. The services were friendly but seemed preoccupied at times. The location, although central, lacked a bit of warmth and cleanliness. The dining options were overpriced, but the hotel had a wide range of buffet and cooked options. Overall, it was a decent stay with some room for improvement.
